Due to the high number of male players who enjoy running around staring at pixilated ass all day, they are reluctant to believe you when you happen to truly be a female playing a girl character behind the keyboard.

It doesn’t help that many girls pretend that they are guys just so that the socially inept mouth-breathing geek boy population of MMO’s will leave them alone. After all… always hearing “tits or GTFO” before every raid gets pretty old after awhile. I think that I must have been in the minority (please correct me if I am wrong) of girls who wanted to be known as girls and got a little upset when no one would believe me.

Worse yet than not being believed sometimes, was having them believe you right off the bat and then blame any unlucky game moment on your girlness. The raid wipes, and surely it’s the girls’ fault right? Hardly guys. The stereotype that girls can’t play is ridiculous and usually perpetuated by the thirteen year old boys who play worse than any girl. There a great many female game warriors out there that will melt your face in PvP, take out the boss, and then go paint their nails afterward as they enjoy their victory.

Thinking on all the stereotypes and the treatments that go along with them made me wonder why guys are normally complaining about the lack of girl players. They all want to believe that there is a super hot female on the other end of the fiber optic cable (well if you’re blessed with the luxury fiber lol), and yet if there is one there they treat them so strangely as to drive them away. My advice to the guys wishing they could find more girls playing games would be to stop patronizing us, stop blaming us, and most of all to treat us equally. You cant find the gorgeous gamer girl of your dreams if you tell her she’s the reason your gaming experience is ruined or worse yet, by telling her she isn’t really a girl!
